I picked up the LL SP daylight E7 A-B-B set today. Certainly a beautiful set! . But, the powered A unit has a severe jerky movement at slow speeds (although it purrrrs right along). Higher speeds there's no problems. And the B units....well....they just perform rather poorly (loud, not-very-free-rolling, etc.). I figure extra weight and lube for the B units is all that can be done(?). Any fixes for the A unit jerkiness? Will this "break-in"? Does a lashup with another powered unit improve or worsen this jerkiness? Can you swap A and B shells on the chassis? I'm assuming this is a common problem since a LL PA unit I have does it a little also. Thanks! Russ
I have an A-B-A set of Life-Like E-6's. I would assume that they are the same. I have found that the wheels are very prone to picking up dirt off the tracks very rapidly. Other than that, mine run pretty good.
Russ You wrote ===== And the B units....well....they just perform rather poorly (loud ....... ) ===== Perform ??? LL does not offer powered B units. If yours are "growling" then someone may have already put them on a powered A unit chassis. The chassis swap was covered fairly recently in the model press, but the mag/issue escapes me at present. eNjoy
