Hello G scale group. I don't frequent G often as I am a Z and N scale modeler but at Christmas.... the G come out with the tree. Too big for any other time :eek:mg: but I still enjoy them.

My question is about Kadee couplers. Does anyone have any info what couplers I would need? Their site does not tell much about LGB.

The three items I am converting are:
    #42780 Pulpwood Flatcar
    #46656 Caboose
    #46915 Boxcar

    Hi

I use Kadee 930's on all my cars. LGB included. They're body mount but I prefer it that way. The Kadee site should have a 'conversions' page with all those special needs cars and engines.

Still, you may want to look at truck mounted kits if your radius in Christmas tree tight ;-)

Thanks for both your posts. Do new LGB rolling stock come with both style couplers? I know Lionel Large Scale had a choice of both in the box (several years ago).

I don't know about LGB since the Beer cars I bought over 20 years ago just came with and have their Latch & hook deal to couple, I also have some Delton Locomotive works boxcars that came with a knuckle coupler already installed. I have been holding onto these cars and I will use and build something one day and when I do I will cut off the latch and hook LGB coupling system and replace with a knuckle coupler. I am an N scaler like you with dreams of someday either making a garden railway or running them around the ceiling of Recreation room.

    KD'S

bE CARFULL with body mounted couplers, if you run sharp curves and short switchs like I do. So I use truck mounted KD's.
