I wanted to see if every one has put together the 1939 Hiawatha cars from JNJ trains? It looks like they are pretty easy to put together. I figured a couple of C Liners will have to stand in for the 4-4-2. Any one else have some kit passenger cars they put together and painted. I need something to keep myself busy due to the fact that things are slow and dont need to buy a bunch of ready to run stuff.
I have not tried the JnJ Passenger cars, but judging from the JnJ freight cars and caboose kits I have build the castings should be very nice and easy to work with. The only possible concern could be the wall thickness of a resin casting, making the windows appear to "deep". I personally am more interested in the 1942 cars, so I went with the GHQ brass car sides: http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/n-scale-1942-hiawatha-passenger-cars.html I have not started to paint them yet, but so far they have turned out nice: If you go with the JnJ cars please post a progress report Cheers Drik
