This covered hopper is located next to the Roddis Lumber and Veneer Co. in downtown San Antonio, Texas. I just happened by this car the other day, but it is an active siding. I expect there could be a large variance of hoppers parked here periodically. The good thing is that this is adjacent to an abandoned parking lot, so you can go right up to the cars. There is some boxcar loading/unloading activity further down the siding. The tan building to the right is the old Budwiser Distributor.
Here are three nice weathering jobs I took in Selma, NC last week. These cars are on Norfolk Southern tracks. Selma, NC was the object of Google Earth Contest #6. Interesting track arrangement.
plain- Jane hopper with TFM reporting marks just north of Heavener, OK, on the KCS. TFM is owned by KCS. Ex-NdeM cylindrical hopper in same train, sporting TFM reporting marks but still showing NdeM narkings, eagle logo, and slogan "Unir Servir". Captured both of these the Wednesday before Christmas 2007, en route to Arkansas on a Santa Claus run.
