What a difference size makes! A smalllayout is usually fun but as size grows so does the problems and it becomes work. I have been in Nscale since the 70's and have gone both ways big and small. When I had a large layout the fun was diminished because there was always some problem. I also run under catenary and one layout had over 176 feet under wire, another still bigger had 202 ft but now I'lm down to 76ft and it is more fun.Big layouts are fine if you have a group of guys who will help you operate it.Okay I have had my say>

One of the great things about a small layout is the amount of detail one person can put into it ( unless you're George Sellios who can detail a whole basement! :D ).

Welcome to the group Catmaster! Glad you're here.
