Hello everyone and Happy New Year.

I have one question about layout lighting. I have been put in charge of the lighting the layout at the local club and I have ran out of ideas. I want to use rope lights, seeing that that gives you the best lighing, but since we are using a double deck layout, you will be able to see the rope lights on the top valence, since I have spread them apart about 4 inchs. from each other. I have thought about bunching the lights together at the front, becuase I would like to use 5 strings of rope lights. I am wondering what other people use to light there layouts. If you could, please post pictures of the layout when the lights are one, so that I can get a feel for what it looks like. Thanks, Cody.

Last Months MR has some ideas about deck lighting using flourescent fixtures. Check it out. I have only seen the rope lights used occaisionally for lower decks, and I don't think they are bright enough, except perhaps for staging areas.

I use a combination of rope lights and small halogens. Rope lights alone are too dim for me, even ganged up, and very yellow. Halogens, even low-wattage ones, are pretty hot.
