Well I jumped in and started replacing 60% of the top layer of my layout. Centralia and Kalama will be switched around, and will now be two feet wide instead on a foot. Also the town and yard will be bigger. I'm also adding a small turntable the Centralia. The pulp mill and grain elevator at Kalama will be bigger too, with a better track layout. I've pretty much layed all the cork for Centralia yard, but the rest is still to be finalised. I"m hoping to finish the last bit of benchwork this weekend. All turnaouts will now be manually operated. I hate wiring, and that will simplify it quite a bit. The mainline is magenta in the picture.

I've been changing things around on my layout since I started building it. It seems no matter how much planning you do, you always come up with a better idea, or a different one, once you start running trains! Oh well, I think half the fun is building and designing the layout.

So far still got 6 display cars, I more showcase car, and two baggage cars to go. I still need to build the three 89' flatcars. I have 5 baggage cars i'm in the process of finishing as 5 of the last six display cars that i need. I think I have 14 cars of the train finished. I'll get some pics of the layout in progress tonight and post them.

I can't disagree with this idea! We bought a new house 6 years ago. Work, health and money issues have delayed a layout. But as I await "The Day," I've found a lot of enjoyment in the imagineering my future empire. Much more so than ever in the past.
