Here's two of my latest weathering locos, one a Scale Trains and the other a Kato. I'm also posting a pic of the prototypes (not same numbered on the Scale Trains) that I used for inspiration. They were quit fun doing and love the way they look now when I run them on the little layout.
thomas, This forum doesn’t have much activity on the subject of weathering. Modelrailroadforums.com has an active “Painting, Detailing and Weathering” section, with two separate continuous threads, one for weathering locomotives, one for weathering rolling stock. I participate in both. They have some very good modelers. They are mostly HO scale; I am the only N scale guy who participates there, and I learn a lot from those guys. I go by C&OMtnMain on that forum. I would have PM’ed but it kept cutting me off at the ankles; the above is aparently too long.
I agree, you did a great job on these locomotives. In my opinion weathering is often overdone. Using prototype photos helped you get it just right.
