Nice. Fond memories..... Notice the U33C with early tapered front edge of radiator housing. Some day I need to tackle finishing mine.

Interresting to notice GE Uxx-C and Uxx-B's chassis seem not ride on the same height above rails....

Between 6009 (U30B) and 8001 (U33C)? Might be an illusion caused by the different truck styles.

The six axle GE's were about a foot taller than the four axle because of the span bolster.

Where was the picture of 3038 taken? Maybe Black River?

Yup. Unit numbers being 3038/4000 and seeing the paint wear/rust on 3038, (plus the lack of foliage in background), dates this late Fall of 1973 to Winter of 1974. Location sure reminds me of Black River yard. Class lights illuminated makes this Extra 3038 West. Catenary there did not start coming down until 1974 and into 1975.

Do you have a date for the photo of 199? Fresh paint, so if c.1974, new unit. If late years am wondering as it could be a wreck rebuild. Right now I cannot recall their numbers, but this might have been one of the units at Pandora.

I don't have the exact date but it was about the time the SD40--2's were new.

OK. 199 was delivered in late May/early June of 1974.
