    Hi,

I wanted to share my thanks to the many members who made suggestions and even took the time to draw up a few diagrams to help fine tune the design. I thought I would share a pic of the latest modifications for those interested.

Again, thanks to all on this wonderful forum for your productive comments and suggestions, and I continue to welcome your suggestions and comments. I've learned a great deal from this experience and wish to continue learning.

I think that is a cool plan, enough to keep you busy for a while! I am working with roughly the same space and trying to fit in a busy prototype area so this is timely. Looking forward to construction progress photos.

I do not know what year you are planning to run in but i have a B&O Time table book that shows all trains that ran from niles 1955 to 1985 on the akron main line if you are interested.

    Cody,

All the refinements you have made to your original design have created an awesome layout.:thumbs_up:
This is a top notch modern era prototype layout with visible staging made to look like a huge double mainline yard. You have improved your scenery to track ratio by opening up more space for scenery and gained aisles space for operators / guests.[IMG]

Will you have any spurs leading into the steel mill at Youngstown?

You're going to Njoy building this layout.[IMG]

Looks nice--with so much in Pgh, I am surprised you didn't try to model more there.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for all the positive comments. I'm glad the layout design is helping others. I'm sure some things might change in the way of scenery as the layout begins construction.
Wiking: The layout is based on a modern theme, but I do appreciate your offer for historical reference.
Iron Horse: I'm not sure yet. The original layout showed a steel mill in Youngstown, but at the moment, I may not have one now.
kermat13: I chose to model an industrial area to represent Pittsburgh. At present there's 3 fairly large buildings, and 5 bridges spanning a river. Again as construction begins, that is all subject to change of course :)

Again, thanks to this fine forum.

I'm glad you like it Grooverider. Iron Horse, it looks like I can add the steel mill back in without it over-crowding the layout :) I up-loaded the new pic at the top of this thread.
I also toned down "Quad city" as in looks, it was larger then other of the more major city's represented on the layout.
