I am in the early stages of building a new layout that will be loosely based on the LSRC (Lake State Railway). Is anyone else on the forum modeling the LSRC or the D&M (Detroit and Mackinac)? Also I am try to locate an Atlas C-425 in the LSRC paint scheme with the 181 road number. If anyone knows where I can purchase or barter for one, please contact me.

    Thanks,

    Lyle

    Lyle-

I know we have a fan or two aboard interested in the D&M. Hopefully they might speak up.

Hope you'll share those layout plans and some construction photos!

    Thanks Boxcab,
Good to know I am not the only LSRC/DM fan. I will keep everyone posted on my layout progress.

Welcome aboard, Lyle! When you start your project, you might consider posting your progress in the scale forum you are working with. It'll probably get more exposure there. :)

Been away for awhile, but I'm back now. To answer your question PEIR, I am modeling the early to mid 90's. Also I have moved my focus from the LSRC to the Michigan Northern. The Michigan Northern operated from 1976 to 1986. In my freelance scenario, in 1986 the MN was purchased by RailTex and continued freight and passenger operations.

When I made the decision to model the LSRC, I had never heard of the Michigan Northern. I am still going to represent the LSRC on my railroad, but I have a lot more artistic freedom modeling a railroad that is no longer in existence.
