Hi to all. Is there any railfans & modelers here with an interest in Michigan's Lower Peninsula railway, Lake State Railway. I'm wanting to build some "HO" model locos in this new Blue & White scheme but cant find any railroad decals. Anyone here have any knowledge.
Pete, never heard of it, though Lake States was the packaged ex-Soo Line trackage in MI and WI that became the (modern) Wisconsin Central back in the 80's. Try Oddballs Decals as Tom does the oddball roads. If he hasn't done them, maybe make a suggestion else you will need to go to the likes of Rail Graphics as he doesn't do custom runs. Another option is someone on the board here doing them for you though you may need to create your own artwork.
Hi Gary. The Lake State Railway Co is the former Detroit & Mackinac railway in Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Try this link. www.lsrc.com/home.htm Thanks for the tip for Oddballs Decals, but haven't seen anything available on their site. Come to think of it i've never seen decals for the Detroit & Mackinac railroad either. Oh well i'll keep looking. Many Thanks
Gary- That was the Lake States Transportation Division of Soo Line. Similar, but slightly different name. Didn't last very long. Fulfilled it's intended purpose, and then was gone. I remember when it was set up, their employe timetable #1 was a highly sought after prize. I was never able to get one. Boxcab E50
Peter- I have a feeling it might be a while for such decals to come to market. If D&M were that difficult to locate, probably tehse will be as well. May be looking at a custom order to get any. Boxcab E50
