Well guys my narrow gauge Christmas layout is on hold...just had major knee surgery and can't get downstairs to work on it! Meanwhile I am confined to my comfy chair and all I can do is pln it out in my pain-killer muzzied head.

You could get a legal pad or a clip board and draw things out as well.

And what's to stop you from setting a plank across the arms of the chair and working on some buildings? You have time to build the outhouses or something!

Or buy one of those big boxes of unpainted figures and spend the hours and hours painting them all. You can do that sitting in the comfy chair.

I prefer to work with a self healing mat in the dining room...or on a TV tray in the living room. Perhaps you can build some dioramas in this fashion...or some rolling stock. A perk to it is that the family is around...a disadvantage to it is that the family is around (little kids to mix well with solvents, knives, and fragile parts).

One of thoes TV trays with the folding metal legs should do the trick- just set it up in front of you while you're sitting, and work on stuff from there.

Beats the idiot box any day.............. :D

(unless, of course, you're into watching college & pro football)

Get well soon John. I can relate. I had rotator cuff surgery last summer and the drug induced haze made life miserable, and the pain killers did nothing for the pain anyway. And the weeks of doing things left handed when I'm a righty was no better. So no medeling work for me either.
