Progress is still ongoing but slow. Added primer, some grabs, test fitted the couplers and fuel tank
Still a couple grabs to drill and install.

Been awhile, been working here or there. Have not gotten as far as I would like to have. Been awhile since I have painted and decaled a loco.

That is going to be a great looking unit when done. Actually, it already looks great (y)(y)(y)

Looks good. I found someone that makes the MK cab so I purchased one. I have an Athearn SD50 and a Proto 2000 SD50 both unpainted. I was going to use one of those to make the MK50-3. When the MK5000C motors went out they rebuilt them with EMD prime movers and had to put SD50 long hoods on them. This will be an HO model when complete.

Thats funny! But is the truth, had 3 of them on a WB into Grand Junction years ago, all 3 DIC. Got scared to death while walking thru the power, as an MK guy was working on one, looked like he hadnt slept for a week, big old wad of wires all along the walkways, we had like 8 units on that train as I recall. Had SP, DRGW, MPI, EMD, even a GP60 demo with it, a rolling rainbow of power.

My shell arrived yesterday and it's nothing short of stunning! I've never seen anything 3D printed that is as smooth as this and the crispness of the relief detail is on par with, say, an Atlas or Kato shell. And there's even a see thru DB grill on the roof with a fan visible below! Amazing!

Not sure when I will get around to starting on this, but I will try to document progress when I do. Mine will be an SP unit.;)
