I think I finally enjoy the art of projects for school. My daughter came home a couple of days ago with a project due by May 1st. It's on man made structures...she wanted to build a house...sheesh how boring....I convinced her to build a bridge...she came up with the idea not to build a modern structure from 2002, but to build a structure that in some places has stood the test of time and mother nature's fury. "A TRESTLE BRIDGE!!!!!!!!!!" She asked to borrow some track from me....I'll send pics as soon as she's done it to show you all how it turned out...Maybe, just maybe, our hobby has yet another adventurer into N scale
As you say Ed, you never know what this will lead to. Maybe a request to create a railroad that will give the Iron Ridge RR some competition. Looking forward to seeing the bridge.
A similar thing happened to me last year for a project on Saskatchewan. What would be a Saskatchewan without a new fleet of grain cars and a new SW1200?
That is why I love this hobby...it has so many facets that one can find a railroad application in nearly anything !! It is also nice to see kids get involved in any way possible. Good luck and I look forward to seeing the pics!! John
That's the ticket... What a great project Ed. What Loco is she going to use in the display? Something has to be on the track, eh? Does she have a preference? Do you? Can't wait to see the bridge! B [ 28 May 2002, 04:29: Message edited by: ByronV ]
