I got the Kicking Horse pass add on CD in the mail on Saturday! WOW! If the original routes had been this good & accurate, I'm sure there would be many less frustrated people playing MsTS, I really can't reccomend it enough. It comes with plenty of route/era-specific (late 80's CP Rail) equipment, (although apparently due to licensing issues they just don't say CP Rail on the side, doesn't look bad though...) The grade is beautifully laid out, doesn't bounce around all over the place like Marias, the pre-made trains are of a proper length, (not the Marias "shorties") and they have loaded/empty configuarations (very useful on grain/sulfur unit trains) and the loco's seem to react to the trains/grades much better somehow (plus they have dynamic brakes that actually do something!!! ) I've watched a cab ride tape of this line, and it's quite a similar experience, they have done very well with the scenery. Count me a happy customer! They are building Sandpatch as their next project (see all the chessie equipment previews on their site), I really can't wait, and I WILL be buying more of their stuff!!! No connection with Maple Leaf Tracks other than as a seriously impressed customer!
i agree fully---cant wait for more of their items--also at a fair price--forget about other add on--this is the one to have
This is an excellent piece of work especially when compared to many of the other add-on products available. My copy of this add-on arrived the middle of last week and it has gotten a fair amount of attention over the last 6 days. Looking forward to additional pieces of work from the folks at Maple Leaf.
Additional activities are starting to show up on Train-sim.com for this route. I haven't seen a bad or mediocre review of this product on any of the more popular MSTS support sites.
forget about any other add-ons including 3D techachipi---nothing thus far even closely competes with kicking horse pass---and im no big fan of canadian railroading---the product offers a lot for the money---i cant wait for their new product [sand patch]
