Just ambling towards home down in Gulfport. Sure happy my skipper has to hold me to 10 mph...TGIF!
Well, that paint job certainly is an antique. Would take some serious prep work to get another coat.
Hey, give her a break, Ken. She's 91 years old in loco years. You should look so good by then.... :tb-tongue:
Uh-oh. I can't find my human to engine years conversion chart. :tb-smile:
According to the KCS Historical Society roster (http://www.kcshs.org/schedule/subs/images/rosters/kcsroster.xls), she was delivered new in March, 1978. So I thought that 3:1 sounded reasonable. Though considering there are locos still operating in revenue service, i.e. non-tourist and non-restoration, that were delivered ~60 years ago, maybe 1.5:1 would be more accurate. So I should apologize for casting aspersions on your age and physique. :tb-embarrassed:
Anyhoo, I think it's neat to catch an old gal like her still operating, and possibly in her original paint scheme. :tb-cool:
Well, I sometimes wonder about those older units. First generation stuff. Perhaps we should view them in feline terms? Seeming to have nine lives? :tb-smile:
