the same as one does with a single loco : run them. every now and then.

cp rail has roughly 400 ac-4400... just because our models are 1:160 doesn't mean our roster has to be 1:160 as well ... ;-)

so i'm still far away from having a complete roster

I think Kato is doing great stuff - certainly more than last year. However I second the concern regarding NS. They've ignored it - except for the SD70M Flared Radiator, which is a pretty rare unit on a railroad with +/- 1000 C40-9W's (C44-9W would be an almost perfect match with the newer trucks and high mounted headlights).

Could not have said it better myself. If Kato did come out with locos in those roads, I would of course be forced to buy them all.

I'll go on record now and predict that the next Eastern passenger train Kato produces will be the 20th Century Limited. A natural companion to the Broadway, as they ran on identical timetables.

Re: 20th Century Limited; they wouldn't have to go through all the trouble with a fresh design as with the GG1 (or maybe massage their C62 model frame into a Pennsy Pacific); I'm sure they still have the basic design for their great hudson they made for Con-cor (which we already know will pull a ton of cars reliably), which could be quickly 'improved' for DCC readiness and released with a set of passenger cars derived, again, from a previous run. Instant famous eastern passenger trains. The Broadway with a pacific could be the basic set, with add on car sets to follow with the GG1.
