Sorry Scott but I don't know who has one, though I was thinking, maybe one from another model will work? What about the GP50 fuel tank?

    Good luck!

    Casey,
Could you not use a SD40-2 tank and cut it down and then graft it on a GP38 frame? Just a thought and may be your only alternative at this point. I cannot stand how Kato does not stock parts past the 10 year mark, as I have a GP50 I need a new DB equipped shell, and have the Non DB shell, do you think they would have it- NOPE [IMG] Oh well, Have a good one, and best of luck on the tank, Justin (looking for a GP50 shell any road as long as it is DB equipped) May

I really hate when you guys do this... [IMG]

Casey, try the Atlas GP30/35 tank. It's the same length as the Kato 38's and has a similar profile but there are a couple of things you might want to modify. Best to have a look at what I did for the Soo SD40-2 fuel tanks. The tank is towards the bottom of the page but reference to it being from a GP35 is in earlier text.
The Atlas tank is a loose clip fit but the air reservoirs are a little short compared to the Kato's and have mounting straps. If this is a bother, then shave off the Atlas reservoirs and fit a pair of Sunrise Enterprises N-346 Geep frame mount reservoirs to the upper sides of the Atlas tank, after having filed them down to fit under, and in line with, the sidesills.
Secure the fuel tank in place with 3M or Sellotape (if available) double-sided sticky tape (NOT the double-sided foam mounting tape) ala Life-Like GP20's.

    Hope this helps.

    Gary.

You might also try Wisconsin NScale. They have a lot of Kato and Atlas parts.
