I have some questions about the Kato SD90's that are coming out. First off, are they the SD90MAC series or the SD90/43M series? I'm alomst positive they will have the standered cab on the UP types (not the new cab design). Also, will the UP type have the "Wing Herald" on the nose or just the plain ol' sheild? Well, should be fun to find out! Thanks for any help! ------------------ Craig Martyn BLMA(best looking models around) Custom painting and detailing [This message has been edited by Craig Martyn (edited 27 May 2000).]

It'll get the much the same treatment as the snoots

My guess would be early next year or very late this year. ------------------ Craig Martyn BLMA(best looking models around) Custom painting and detailing
Craig, I asked the same question regarding which it will be and did not get one answer. I would hazard it will be the 9043. All but the handful of pre-production and troublesome full-90's have been the 4300hp convertibles. UP and CP, plus a leasing group have received, or will be receiving, quite a few these. I did read somewhere it was to be the 9043, but that could have been spectulation as well. As for the wing shield, it hasn't been applied to anything new except the new 70 series units. All the 90 and 9043's have had shields. Mind you, that doesn't mean Kato won't provide that Gary. ------------------ Gary A. Rose The Unofficial TC&W page N to the Nth degree!
Thanks for the note Gary. Even though right now there are no SD90's that have "wings", they will get them as they are shopped. Does any one know when that will start? Thanks ------------------ Craig Martyn BLMA(best looking models around) Custom painting and detailing
Craig, look at the GP35, then look at the snoot. You will notice Kato did a better job. Then look at the pick, up, then look at the snoots pic up. or, see the Kato GP35 post in the HO forum. I hope not. It looks terrible in the pics I have seen of the 70's. Too big. It really belongs on the original passenger cab units. My 2c. Gary.
Yeah, most people seem to think the wings are too big and too high up on the nose. I think two feet less width would be better. ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery Alan's European Gallery Alan's British Steam Gallery
as you all know kato is good for christmas time delivery usually. look at the times they realeased everything else one in summer or spring and 1 in fall or winter.
Man, I could use about 150 000 of those things! Happy Railroading!! Dane N. IT ------------------ TAMR2860-AKA BC Rail King TAMR2860@Canada.com for TAMR info. To send a general TRAIN! E-Mail send to BCRailKing@Canada.com
