Hi Again, August 20th, 2000. Re those Kato SD 90s. I here they won't B out for a while but Since only 2 Roads have them really, I'll be Please to have 1 in Hot C.P. Rail RED and the Other in that Wonderful U.P. Yellow. Easy Choices. Now if I can only get My Banker to Finance some New Power Acquistions for My Railroads, I'll B Off and Running. Guess the Bankers will have to B BRINKS or VISA. Thanks Now, Andrew, Calgary, trainorders@hotmail.com
Yep, CEFX units have been in service since at least April. VTR had one, now two (they may be back in the lease pool already) of them. I photographed one on April 28th in Vermont. As for roads, here are their options: CP - SD90 and SD90/43 UP - SD90 and SD90/43 CEFX - SD90/43 I think there is one more. If Kato does different shells, then they can squeeze in the 6,000 and 4,300 HP variants. ------------------ Corey Lynch VP - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
What if Kato did it like they did the SD40-2's? First they would do the 4,300hp version and then the 6000hp and they could even put the new cab on that one (though I doubt it). Another paint scheme that can be done is the "Shamu" paint scheme. Nice looking and if Kato doesn't do it, I know I will!!! ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. http://users4.50megs.com/blma/

quote:
Originally posted by tunnel88: Any idea of the number off hand(or if you know)?

Sorry I don't. On another topic though. Demo locomotives usually always look cool. Take the GP60's, SD70M's, SD90 and the C60. All of those schemes were really cool in my opinion! ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. http://users4.50megs.com/blma/
My personal favorite was the BN MAC demonstrators, but i guess i'm biased! The 60 series colors were very nice... Can't wait for those P2K Oakways!!!
do you think kato will have the same problems that emd did and we'll have to send them all back for service? ------------------ fly with route of the eagles.rock n roll all night and railroad everyday!
Let's hope not! I wish I had a use for those beasts, but BNSF dosen't use them. Maybe those 89MACS, which I've been told will have the same body, but we'll see... ------------------ BNSF RAILFAN-TO-THE-MAX! Brent Tidaback, Member #234 and a N-Scaler to boot!
You BNSF guys could always get a CEFX one (if they make it or get it custom painted) and run it with BNSF trains. Maynot be prototypical but it would at least be a little better looking than a UP SD90 with some BNSF stuff. ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. http://users4.50megs.com/blma/
i think that the bnsf probably ran the shamu's as test didn't they? i think im just going to get the gonrails ------------------ fly with route of the eagles.rock n roll all night and railroad everyday!
Well, there was only one Shamu and as far as I know if only tourd on the UP becuase it is and I guess was a UP loco at the time....just in a different paint scheme. ------------------ Craig Martyn Best Looking Models Around Custom detailing AND N scale detail parts. http://users4.50megs.com/blma/
Ok guys i'm a little lost can you explain to me what a SHAMU is? ------------------ Paul Cassar-# Member number 50 ICQ 61198217 http://users.bigpond.net.au/railroad2000
I queried that, too Paul. But still awaiting clarification ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery
shamu was a famous show killer whale here in the states and this thing looks like a whale the way its painted so it was dubbed the shamu. ------------------ fly with route of the eagles.rock n roll all night and railroad everyday!
