And what does this have to do with trains? My posts are based on fact, not some model, or whomever she is. Mark
B&O's Capital limited Has anybody put in a call for the Capital limited yet. If not I would suggest that to be a likely canidate.
That was from the first run of pax cars Kato produced. I still have the original Daylight set. Anyone interested?
I'd take a North Coast Limited and a set of F units to match. I would also go for a Hiawatha or some BN hockey sticks.
I had a set each of BN and SP that I repainted for my own road, the Westfalen & Gulf. I also have a 6 + 4 set of Via Rail cars that I recently got an IM FP7/F7B to pull, the IM F units make the paintwork on the Kato cars that was pretty good in its day look rather sad.
Well you can add me to the long list of those who want to see a North Coast Limited! I think it would sell VERY well... if for no other reason than it's just a damned good looking train!!! IMHO, it's the best looking of the streamliners. But alas, since it appears that KATO disagrees, I will probably have to settle for making my own with the offerings of Rapido and Walthers in combination with brass car sides.
Send your requests to Kato USA. If Kato gets enough requests from different modelers interested in these passenger consists... (a) they may add them to the list of possible future runs OR (b) move up one thats already on the list to a sooner release. I've been sending Kato requests almost every year for a NCL passenger consist since the first release of the first California Zephyr passenger set. I'd bet a dollar to a donut that the NCL is 'NOW' one of the most requested passenger consists. I'm hoping within the next couple of years we will see one finally announced by Kato. Oddly... Kato has now made FOUR CZ sets which I was not even requesting... but gladly purchased .
At least they are moving now... We should be appreciative of the amount of stuff we've gotten over the past ten years from Kato. There was a time in the 1990's that their models were not publicized much and production runs were smaller than the demand. Thing have changed for the better with Kato since the 1990's... I hope they are not going to go back into a coccoon and stop issueing new passenger consists. Kato... Please make a Northern Pacific North Coast Limited passenger set (okay... I broke my promise not to ask). Just like breaking a mirror... seven more years of waiting for an NCL consist.
Of course set four, like the others, has sold out pretty quickly, so they're being rewarded well for the CZ. That said, the NCL has been my number one request since the beginning. I've also submitted the formal request to Kato.
Is there 4 different sets with all different car names? I have set #2 or set ''B'' and it is my one of favorite consists to watch. To watch the CZ lean into a superelevated 28'' R curve at a scale 50-60 mph looks awesome on my layout. In case I haven't mentioned , I could really use a N.P. N.C.L. also.
Actually, you have set #3. The first two releases were both numbered 106-055, then set #3 was 106-055B and set #4 was 106-056. All four have different car names. If anyone has a brand new 106-055B set available, I would like to talk! Jack
Amtrak California cars are sorely needed, this is probably in Athearn's arena. Kato ? How about some Southern Pacific Passenger Cars in Silver & Red ? fatalxsunrider43
