Just curious, for the 3751 class version, wouldn't the bachmann loco shell require changes as well? If I remember correctly, I think the bachmann is supposed to be a 3776 class...

Also, not to get way ahead of myself here, but do you have a plan for how you might sell these? Perhaps a pre-order/pre pay system? I, for one, wouldn't mind paying to have one built ahead of time, I wouldn't even mind if it took 6 months+ to build.

Would the locos have working headlights?

yes they would have working headlights and be decoder equipped if desired although the price would change for the price of the decoder.

The short tender that i just posted pictures of is for the 3751 class and i have enough tenders ready for 6 locomotives.

OPTIONS: Ill build a couple different locos.
1.If youd like to save a little money, Ill do a bachmann superdetailed shell conversion with modified kato tender pickups to the stock bachmann long haul tender for $300(no decoder)
    2. Same as above but with short tender in the 3751 class with a factory GS4 underframe for $325.
3.New casting boiler price is up in the air at this point but it will be a better quality boiler than the bachmann. Price is unkown at this point due to the amount of work these will be taking to build.

The long tender will be for the 2900 and 3776 class engines.

As for the available units, i will have to build each as they come and available kato mechanisms allow. I was thinking about doing this ebay style as TB can make a little off the units as a buy it now format but most likely it will be easiest to just work directly with me over phone or email and use paypal for payment. I will basically compile a list and let you know when a units done. Im a one man operation as jason is with his FEF northerns.

I will warn everyone ahead of time, i work for BNSF and im out of town in seattle every other week and will do my best to make these builds as speedy as possible.

I will let everyone know when the next unit is available for purchase. This may be a bad idea on my part but to avoid drama due to my schedule, i will not require money up front. Ill build an engine and offer to the 1st person on the list and so on it goes. If one doesnt sell, ill just keep it for my layout! lol

I would like to go the ebay route if i can get it setup to just put one up on there after ones complete so TB can make some coin with their ebay link deal they have.

    Any suggestions?

I would vote for using the stock kato tender trucks. You won't be able to see them that closely when these things are flying down the layout anyways!

the big difference is in the toolboxes between the trucks as theyre bigger with the GS4 frame

I would say offer the short tender with the option of correct trucks, or the stock Katos. I am sure there are people out there that would want each version. :)

jason and i were talking about doing an add on for later as it will require a new frame for the tender and you wont be able to use any of the kato stuff because of there over engineered truck bolsters.
