Isn’t that just atlas code 80 flex? They’ve been selling it under a Kato part number over there from what I understand.

Same alloy as their Unitrak seals the deal for me.

Makes me wonder. If its atlas code 80 flex...the tie spacing wont be the same as regular Unitrack pieces. I'll wait till someone else jumps on it first.

THIS, if true! It will have the Kato special track sauce.

The joiners don't appear to be the same... Different metal, and no plastic support to keep adequate pressure on the rails to ensure good electrical contacts.

Once ties painted the same color, and after ballasting both, I really don’t much note the difference between my unitrack end sections and the code 80 atlas in the middle.

Thanks Norseman -- I didn't know about this. That's a pretty cool addition I think. It's just the thing for a weedgrown spur with little or no ballast beneath or a twisty rural branchline. Kato should have also listed their bagged ballast on that page.

I think it'll provide some nice variation on Unitrack layouts. (y)
