i got 12 6-pack led lights for kato passenger cars. first i installed one of these lid lights in one of my old kato via passenger cars. wow ! what a difference to the light bulbs ! so i replaced all the bulbs with leds. then my cp rail corrugated passenger cars were converted from bulbs to leds as well. looks absolutely fantastic as well. then i started to install these lights into some cars of my santa fe superchief cars. what a bummer. for some reason kato changed the design of the interior of the cars. the large light distributing plastic part needs to be glued in place instead of snap-in. also light distribution is absolutely poor. the cars are lighted only partially. currently i have no idea what is wrong or how to solve this issue. anyone else encountered this problems ? any help will be appreciated.
We've only bought and installed one so far (the test case). We put it in the observation car. The very back doesn't get lit up because it has the lighting for the drumhead and rear light in it, but the rest of the car looks good. There was no gluing involved, and once I read the instructions and looked at the pictures it wasn't that hard to install. I did mess it up the first try, the instructions are not perfectly clear, but once I saw how it fit I was able to get it right. Jeff
