I received a clear and kind response from Kalmbach Media today confirming that the auto-renewal for my subscription has been disabled. So, someone is at the subscription payments helm and doing their job well.
Have been unable to access the forums since Friday Afternoon 8/2/24 Occasionally get the Index page mostly get 504 time outs and 'We are unable to complete your request'. Have these Forums become a Fallen Flag? Even with new ownership?
Started getting 504 errors from Kalmbach in the PM of 9/6 - have been able to call up the forum index several times during the day 9/7 - BUT have not been able to call up any individual thread. Guess the Hamsters are demanding more feed and have stopped their generator to run the system.
Looks as if the Kalmbach hamsters were given the weekend off - 504 errors all day Saturday and Sunday
maybe means maybe and so far I am not seeing any improvement. I get the error I last displayed no matter if I use my normal access short cut or if I go through the Firecrown web site to access the forums.
I signed in through the Firecrown web site to Trains and the forum. I was able to access some things in Trains, however, when using the drop down menu to access the Forums - I got the same error as I posted on Sept. 26.
It is now 10/16 and very few of the regular posters have returned. I have had one momentary 504 error since it returned to operation and a immediate resubmission of the request worked perfectly I have heard some individuals have had trouble signing back into the forum after they had signed out because of the problems of the forum being DOWN. Personally, I never signed out, just kept trying with my normal login sequence. One thing - when making ones original request to the forum, it takes 30 seconds to a minute for the forum page to be displayed (much longer than any other forum I participate in). Once in the forum response time is reasonable, unless and until, you either do not make a post or another inquiry or you leave the forum and then want to come back into the forum.
