Count me in too Paul, somehow I missed this Thread until now. My congratulations on your article too! You already know how much I appreciate your fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. Did you ever get any of the Lumbermen figures I sent you the links to?

    Hi Watash,
Thank for the congratulations my friend. As for the Lumbermen figures I have not as yet ordered any, in fact (LOL) I don't think I even have the address right now as I had a computer change not long ago and lost most of my emails.

Having seen Cooncreek & Tumbleweed Springs first hand, I am not the slightest bit surprised it made the mag [IMG]

I have not only seen it running, but was even allowed to touch some of the scenery to be sure it was not a mirage! :D

Many congratulations Paul, richly deserved [IMG]

Paul, why arent I surprised that your in MR again [IMG] . I jsut took delivery of EVERY issue of MR with one of your layouts in it, going right back to Feb 94. In fact, due to a postage issue, Rhett had to resend them so now I have TWO copies of em all.....so I read em both on principle (yeah, all 20 or so!).

I'd like to see you post some instructional stuff on how you do some of your fantastic work. Perhaps some of us can at least pick up your techniques, if not your skill!

    Congratulations Paul...well deserved.

Wow, all issues of my articles from 1994, guess the first one must have been "Raton Snake Valley" in HO. Anyway my friend, I have been quite busy just of late re-doing all my "How-to's" and putting them on CD.

Thats exactly the layout I wanted PAul (Raton Snake Valley in HO) because I want to actually do that one in N Scale (with a little poetic licence, like losing the reversing loop). Once I got the mags though I actually marked a few section on some of your other layouts (cant have magazines without dog ears!) that I think would be interesting additions.

So no photo's from any of the Raton Snake layouts (any of the 3!)???

Actually... I notice you dont mention painting / weathering either...and thats a significant part of what makes your layouts so good (IMHO).

Its not so much the painting side as the weathering afterwards that makes a model. If you need help with this, just ask.

Anything you've got Paul! I REALLY liked the original (HO) Raton layout, but after reading the reviews on your other layouts (at least 6 times each), there are now several very dogeared magazines (actually, I used post-its, but you get the idea), I'm undecided....still, Raton is what really grabbed me, so thats probably the way I'll go. Do you have any shots of the layouts that arent close ups that will give a more 'global perspective' of how it all ties together?

I'm sorry I just read this thread so late, but I too wish to chime in with notes of congratulations. [IMG]

Your pics should help to promote modeling in On30, and the trees are way awesome! I've gotta get that issue on my next trip to Denton.

I have I think 4 or 5 photos of my old Raton Snake Valley which I could email to you if you wish. Also, back in 1994 whilst a member of N.M.R.A., I entered the Amateur Video competition with my then "Raton Snake Valley" HO railroad. I spent over 20 hours making the 7 minuet video complete with authentic sounds. To cut the story short, it won first place, and the video was taken up by the N.M.R.A. and made into a promotional video, along with many other HO and N-scale layouts. This video was for sale from Steam Powered Videos here in the UK. Don't know if they still have it for sale, but you could ask.
