Hello folks Just a happy note from an old fart and proud member of Trainboard My activity level on the site and MRR in general has gone way down due to various reasons. Mostly eyesight, shaking hands, and life in general . But hey! we ain't here forever and getting old is just part of life Ya just keep onkeeping on. I 'm announcing my official retirement from active Model Railroading and entering the official "Arm Chair Modeling" group. I'll still (I've always been on loan from the Big Guy) be around checking out the site every once in a while. Following all the new guys and the progress they've made with their MRR. Checking my ole friends from days past and once in a while making a new blog entry. But I'm gonna be dozing in my ole recliner, dreaming about the 2 layouts I've had, the third that never made it, reading my N Scale mags, drinking an occasional, watching a little TV. So guys enjoy your MRR, and remember it's your MRR so build it for you. But most of all have fun. See ya Ron AKA Switchman
Hi Ron, sorry to hear that you've "retired" from modeling, but glad that you're still around to enjoy our hobby, even if it's at arms length. Long Life, my friend, and stay active, at least on TB.
Sorry that you are "retiring" from teh active building and operating phase. (Sure understand the hands issue.) But glad to know you'll still be following the hobby. Enjoy life!
Ron, you do not have to retire from Trainboard. Share memories of your layouts and interesting experiences that you had when running.
Also, please share advice you might have for Newbies. Newbies always appreciate mentoring, as do we "Olde Phartes" who still are building layouts and models.
Just make sure to park that ole recliner next to an open window where you can hear some train whistles in the distance.
