Still waiting on the caulk to dry around the creek area. Usually good in 24 hours but not this time. It is a little cool in the basement but not enough that I would have expected it to affect the drying time. Maybe by tomorrow morning, guess we shall see. In the mean time a couple of other updates.

Months ago, our friend MK said I needed to get the power strip I have the layout plugged into moved off the floor and mounted. I said I would and it may have taken a bit but earlier this week, it FINALLY got done.

While I was at it, I mounted a second one across from it to go ahead and be ready for when I add any new electrical items.

Been working trying some weathering but will save that for another day.

With the drying time and just having some fun running trains, I've some how managed to keep a nice open spot on the workbench for my coffee. :coffee::coffee::coffee: Cheers!

Power strips are great things! But that work bench just looks, unused? Way to organized!:ROFLMAO:

Thanks Alan. I've been accused of being too neat. Can't help it. One person asked me recently if I purposely cleaned up before pictures and the simple answer is no, that's just how I do things. There are plenty of messes, they just don't show. :)

Finally did a bit of a walk around of the entire layout for you all. Hope you enjoy it.

What, you don't organize your tools in the background just so? I can't help it :D

    Great layout.
Have watched it come together as you started about the same time I came back into the hobby. So many interesting industries and I've been impress by the ability to make them work in the area you have with the tracks, roads and other detail associated with them. I think we often don't plan for the roads and other open spaces like we should that need to be there to make the scene more realistic.

Also not running the tracks right to the edges of the layout goes a long ways to make it feel like the tracks are running through and not around the different scenes.

BNSF Fan: I really like your layout and video. It looks complete with an amazing number of scenes and it is all greened up nicely and the finished benchwork shows it off well. The trains even run smoothly, well done! - Tonkphilip

Hey now, it was only 3/4 empty. And the brewer is just off to the left so refills happen quick :D :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

Thank you guys! I know we can be our own worst critics sometimes and I feel like I've got a long way to go to make it as good as you guys see it. :)

Thanks for the layout tour video, Richard. It shows your fabulous layout much better than photos do. You’ve created a lot of great scenes and given me a lot to think about as I begin to plan scenery on my layout. I will watch your video a few more times so I can take in all the neat details.

Beautiful - great to see a video that displays your entire layout together and, all of your skills!

Is that an Atlas Signal Tower in the corner near the corn field? Nice section in showing various sub station views. Wow, grain elevator massive.

Super idea about naming business after friends!

Another accomplishment this week was adding some additional decor to the hallway into the train room. Back in the 80's and 90's mom bought a ton of these railroad themed collector plates (among other things) from places like the Danbury Mint. for many years, I got a set every year at Christmas. This is the first time they have been back on the wall since I took them down when we were prepping our last house for sale a little over 6 years ago. I still have a dozen or so more but ran out of room.

Wow BNSF Fan!!!! That looks like something a museum would have! It is so cool for your mom to send you a set every year. What great memories!

Agreed! @BNSF FAN has found ways to add a lot of fun detail, but the layout doesn't look crowded. It all flows nicely and runs well too.
