The rest of the creek has been removed!!! Here it is with a debris pile still there The bridge came out much easier than expected so that was a win. I've got a little clean up still to do but here is pretty much what my start over point will be. I'll be honest here, I pulled this original section out and set it there and it's really tempting to trim it to drop in and move on........... Of course that would be too easy.
The tear out went well. Now to do it over. I used good ole Mod Podge, and it dries hard and looks good still. Supposedly it takes color, too, but I haven't tried that. It is over Elmer's, wood glue and various paints, with no bubbling. Looked great what you did have! Only thing is, the Creature lived in Black Lagoon water, yes, a little Creedence playing in the background.....
It really is made to fit Mark. I don't know why but when I cut the section for the creek, I set the section of foam I cut out in a stack I keep for projects. Now here we are almost 5 years later and it made a reappearance Now there's an idea!
I posted this in the recent purchases thread a few days ago and commented on it's small size I'm always breaking and/or misplacing these things somehow so I can never really have too many. Anyway, here is a size comparison to two other sets I had handy. The newest is the one to the left. I also came across this and it was also super cheap so couldn't pass it up either. I usually see the 10 packs of blades for what this whole set cost and besides, who doesn't need more hobby knives.
Now Jeremy, it is called Mentards! Cause we men walk in the door and just get Stoopid in there! This tool was just 5 bucks! I don't know what it is for, but I am sure I will find a use for a 5 dollar tool!! Oh, look! Another one!
Ummmmm, yeah, that's me for sure and probably even more so since we don't have them in Atlanta and I only get to visit one while travelling. I just might have a Masterforse item....... I'll stop there
So, while dodging starting on rebuilding the creek, I'm finding other things to work on like installing some of this Ez Line It really was easy to use. I started here with a little CA to attach the first end to the lead coming out of the sub station. This is one of those situations where I didn't really think it through but just got lucky. The sub station fortunately has 6 power leads coming out of it and that matched up perfect with the spaces for 6 transmission lines on the Kato Transmission Towers. I'm also glad I went with the "Heavy" Ez Line because even at that its a bit hard to see. Here it is with all 6 lines installed. I'll say I'm very happy with it. Just one of those little details that you don't notice that much but actually makes a difference in viewing the scene.
A video look at the side adventure I have been on this week thanks to some very special TB members. It's less than 3 minutes and I hope you all like it.
Now THAT is a fun little layout, something simple and instantly relaxing. A nice video too, quiet and unhurried. Thanks for posting this.
I remember seeing these in Christmas Wish catalogs! Does that make me old? Nice find and great video!
Thank you my friend! I think I said ummmm a few too many times, bad habit of mine Thank you sir. Simple is making it fun for sure! No sir, not old, just wise and thank you! Happy Thanksgiving everyone
A tad bit of progress on the creek redo. Making it about half as deep as it was before so got some Styrofoam cut and in place used some DAP latex caulk to fill in around the edges. Once that dries, I'll mix up some of this and put a thin layer over the bed and do some contour to the banks.
