Loren, my mind is blowing with so much ideas... Yep, I already thought about making helos, too. So much stuff I would like to make, but each time I start or I'm about to start a new project, I realize "damn, I got to finish the thousand vehicles and the stuff I've started before..." :-D Joao
Thanks, Kurt! I used to have a blog but it is not updated for a long time. Recently, I created a Facebook page where I regularly update: https://www.facebook.com/JMC-Scale-Models-341193572911400/ Purchases can be made directly from private message. I still don't have a website. This one is a project I started some months ago and I'm working now: a pneumatic road roller Hamm GRW15. They were primed and I started to paint yesterday. Regards, Joao
Not only vehicles I make. Did these Vietnam-era PCF Swift boats recently, too. Hope you like. ;-) Joao
It's interesting and fortuitous you put so much work into the 1961 Plymouth Suburban in your avatar. Interesting because they're relatively rare and appealingly ugly. Fortuitous because Chrysler had a cheapskate attack about then. With a change of distinctive front ends and just a tiny modification of taillights and trim, that could be an equally accurate '62 Chrysler, or '62, '63 or '64 Dodge 880 wagon.
Yeah, I know it's considered one of the ugliest american cars. I think it even might be in the top ten. I think it's such an interesting car. I really love it. Yup, that's true, from 1961 till 1964 you can notice such similar lines on both Mopars. The full-size wagon body is practically the same. This one I made in USAF dark blue with doors open (a hell to make it! put a lot of work on it...) for a Strategic Air Command drill diorama during the Cold War days with the officers scrambling to their bomber. The bomber is not ready yet, it's still on the hangar waiting for the landing gear to be assembled. Joao
It's a good thing those guys scramble so slowly! Yeah, open doors in Z scale is impressive! Amazingly, Plymouth's advertising tagline that year was 'Solid Beauty'. Read the text of the ads and they're a lot like Volkswagen's 'Ugly is Only Skin Deep' campaign. And it's a point--they were great cars. A '61 Plymouth coupe is basically a slightly more primitive '69 Charger with a dashboard Buck Rogers would be proud of. But that face... One thing you can't deny. It has attitude!
I have several of Joao model cars and they are beyond outstanding! very professional designed and very well painted with crisp sharp lines! I would post a few after I ask him if it's ok!
here are some of JMC Scale models I needed a few old style logging truck for transporting smaller loads by single truck and here is 4 of them! these have outstanding detailed. Thanks Joao! for the outstanding work!
Hello everyone, I've been busy with lots of models and projects. Let me show you the latest ones. 1950's White 3000 COE moving van. Primed and ready to paint. I also made a piano just for fun. It will look great on any city scene layout or small diorama, I think. With the piano being hoisted by a crane from/to a building, it will look awesome! :-D Enjoy the pictures! Regards, Joao
