On my way home from Pa. last night on the Staten Island Expressway, I came across a "wide load" truck with escort. As I drove up along side to pass, I realized that the wide load was one of the new JFK Airtrains! For those not familiar with airtrain, it is the Port Authority's light rail project to connect JFK airport with NYCTA's subway/LIRR. For more info and pics on Airtrain, Click here. I had no idea that they were being transported by truck so this was a rare treat. It's too bad that I was driving though as I would have liked catching a pic! Russ Hoffman Valley RR
