Bob, I don't know if you have seen these yet, but I have three different types of speaker enclosures on my shapeways shop, and I can make any speaker enclosure to fit any speaker that you have. They are very easy to use, plop the speaker in and seal with CA or other adhesive. PM me if you are interested.

    Happy Modeling!

Well, then I'm still passing out pitchforks, because my own attempt was a complete failure, using TCS decoders and a Digitrax Zephyr. The performance problems I got in my small geared steam were so severe that I abandoned the project and tore out the decoders and went back to DC. After a year of passing emails back and forth to tech support at TCS ('your locomotives are simply too small and light to work reliably on DCC'), and having Lee Weldon diagnose the decoder issues and not solve them either, I decided to simply enjoy running and stay DC. Not worth the fight and frustration.

I don't give up easily, this saga was over an entire year. Only other 'great leap forward' I ever abandoned was home photoetching, but that at least actually worked and the issue was volume, not technology. I'd even try building my own track switches like Bob before I'd take on DCC again for my equipment.

I am hoping to go DCC on one of my levels. Most likely it will be the Bottom with unit trains hauled by 2 or more locos.

I can still see and remember the simplicity of DC and the minimal cost. I can also see the added benifts of DCC...regardless of the added cost. If I hadn't received the settlement from a car accident a few years back...I know I would still be on DC.

The problem I now have...as the settlement 'alottment' for trains ran out awhile ago...is decoders. I bought a few back then...while still building the layout. NOW...I get my small 'train allowance' every month...and save it towards more decoders. It seems everytime I get just about enough saved for a few decoders....something comes up and the saved $$$$$ goes toward the house...or something other then trains !!! This month it was 100.00 in paint to repaint all the walls in the house. If I didnt know better...I would swear THE Wife has a secret notepad somewhere that she keeps a tally of how much she think I have saved up...LOL.
