Well I guess summer is over, was it it a good summer for you? How about the weekend? What did you get done? Friday I worked on my one customers SD50 BLMA fan project and got most of it done. I hope to have his locomotives done by the end of this week. The one hang up with my NW-2 is the number boards are so tiny that I ended up and cheated by making my own number boards on the computer and will print them out on decal paper later this week. Saturday and Sunday was the regular job with off time working on a project list for Jess my railfan Jeep. Monday was just a quiet day spent with Angela however we spent some time across town looking into another house we will be moving in soon and tried to see where everything, including my shop and modules will fit. I'm on a roll with loco repairs. I had some chronic derailing problems with an Athearn PA. This one is old school, no flywheels, barebones interior, metal truck frames, etc. I found that the wires I soldered to the truck and motor contacts to improve continuity were a tad too short. Basically, my bad . I replaced them with longer ones and it fixed the problem. Now I've run out of things to fix... I also assembled a few Roundhouse kits that I had accumulated for days where it's not good to go outside (too hot or other bad weather).
I spent the weekend working on a timetable. I am almost finished with it too. Just a little more computer work and wallah. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Got painting done on the train room wall/backdrop. Plus I got the major walls started on the H.W. Myers building kit. Got the walls edges sanded square, put in the nail holes, painted, weathered w/ ink-alcohol, and got them all braced. Only got this done because I took Friday afternoon off after lunch. With the exception of going to an N.C. State football game, tailgating and all that good stuff, the rest of the time was spent working on train stuff right through to Monday afternoon. We need more weekends like that.
