Jim appears to be out of computer contact, so I'll start this over here this week.

I got the benchwork assembled, stained and installed in my trainroom over the weekend!

On the far left is a piece of bare wood with a level on it. That will be the liftoff bridge back to the current layout. Eventually, I'll add another section on the far right which will be staging. At the moment, I'm planning to power it with a cable that runs through the bridge, so when the bridge is removed there will be no track power. That may change, but there's no easy way to run the track bus other than the bridge.

So, what have you been doing?

I got a lot accomplished. My sister happened to be in town, so she took our 1 yo off our hands for a few hours on the 4th so we could get some stuff done.

I had some extra time, so I removed the rest of they layout, installed the storage shelves, installed top level bench work and work bench framing down below. Placed the one section of layout I saved back on top.

Still a mess, construction work underway! [IMG]

I was too busy elsewhere to get any modeling done. However, I took photos of some interesting subjects to try to build some day.
I want to build one of these real bad.

Russell, that's an interesting location for the Santa Fe covered hopper. Do you know why it might have an "elevated" opinion of itself?

I finished the insp. pits, now I need to build stairs, cutting jacks, treads, and kicks was not a good plan. Maybe start forming for the pour this week, I don't need stairs for that.
