Well its happened again, another weekend is over, how did you do?

Technically, my big railroad weekend isn't over until noon today. As soon as I finish writing this, it's back to my storage unit to finish stage one of our modules. Friday night, myself and the club set up our T-Trak modules for the Decatur Train Fair, and my guest showed up. Saturday morning we finished setting up and walked around the show before leaving to do a bit of railfaning with another friend around Decatur. We then got some lunch and set off for Monticello for the Monticello Railroad Museum and enjoyed the five trains they were running and various photo ops. Sunday we started construction of our N scale modules that we hope to have running at the 2015 Galesburg RR Days show.

So how about you? Did you enjoy some show time, railfan time or bench time? Let us know! We'll come back on Friday the 26th and do it all over again. Until then, have a happy and safe week and...

Got some more done on the AVRAMS project. Finished the abandoned tank and shed. Got the back stairs put up, now have to do the railings.

Could have done more but I also worked on finishing the insulation in the train room (attic). I having this round window ripped out this week and putting in a curved casement window so I meet the egress code. Next up after that will be sheet rock. Its been too long coming to get the train room done, but I'm on the way.

Well, I met the goals of my plans from Friday, no more, no less. The snap switch has been replaced by a #6, the lead tracks are all in place and glued down, and I've got the foam contours on the lift bridge cut and the whole bridge section is plaster-clothed.

I went to a local "Home and Garden/Train Show" Saturday. Despite it being a big disappointment (there were only three layouts and a handful of vendors present this year), I did score some rolling stock for my collection.
Also, I may have to put my layout plans on hold for the time being. I got a notice from the owner of my apartments that my rent is going up $140 a month starting in October, so I'll probably be moving sometime after the first of the year. It's not that I can't afford it, but this cracker box really isn't worth $1000 a month. Here's hoping that I can find a bigger place for that kind of money!

I somehow managed to get three of four walls of a laser kit assembled and painted. Took two days with my shaky hands, but so far, so good.

I installed Kato's new axle update for their GS-4, got it quartered correctly and running amazingly. Plan on 3 hours to get it done correctly. Oh yeah order the driver pins too, I almost lost 1. Very productive weekend.

Here it is "Hump Day" and I haven't been in my train room in days. I have several telegraph/telephone poles to finish and install. All need to be done before I head south for the winter. Oh well still have another weekend or two to go.
