I hope you had a good weekend. I also hope during the time off you took a bit of time to remember the tragic loss we suffered 15 years ago. Let's never forget.

Friday was spent trying to get rid of this summer cold. As of today, I still have it so ambition is not what it usually is. I did get a few things in the shop ready for detail work including a GP30 destined for life as a D&RGW, another GP30 that will become a GP39M in BNSF orange and black, a GP35 and a GP9 both in BNSF Heritage 1.

Saturday was spent at the soccer field and I had a great time watching the boys rack up the points until getting into the championship game where only one goal was scored and it was our boys that made the goal against a highly competitive private school. The victory is bittersweet as this is Jared's senior year so I'm enjoying each and every game.

Sunday I worked most of the day working on my switchlist with map and key for this weekends operations meet. It was fun looking at the early days of BNSF again as the date for this weekends operations session is set in 1998. After a few hours, I got everything laid out and ready for print. Now I just need to set up a few switching scenarios. I also brought out a few older locomotives I painted up many moons ago and got them ready for decoder installation. Looks like my first custom painted and detailed locomotive, BNSF 1685 will perform the necessary duties Saturday night. All in all a good weekend.

So how about you? How did you fare this past weekend? Let us know. We'll come back on Friday the 16th and do it all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

I had a very productive weekend. Installed the 2 new steel bridges, almost finished my mission style church (need to lightly weather it) and started the plastering process for my river bed. Not to bad.

Oh -- I actually ran a train for a bit.--

    Pictures soon.

Hope ya'll had an outstanding weekend,
    Wolf

I didn't have a ton of free time this weekend, but I did scratch out a little to google up some prototype track bumpers. I like the variety found in the real world, so wanted something different than the usual commercial versions.

Armed with a sketch from a photograph and some styrene I-beam, I put together one of these as a test. The original had a length of beam driven vertically into the ground, a second length welded perpendicular in a cross shape across the ends of the rails, and two more welded into a 'V' shape to the crosspiece and the tops of the rails. Like so...

A little paint and weathering, and I think it looks pretty good.

Well, I did get a shelf built and painted to house the layout Digitrax command stations. Also put in a cross-over between the 2 arrival/departure tracks on the staging layout. Got 18 terminal blocks mounted below the layout so I can start pulling wiring soon. I could have done a little more, yesterday I just stopped making a mess in there and took a couple of hours to do a serious clean-up. The room needed it.

Had a little op session Sunday, here is a video of a Frisco Eastbound freight.

Got a couple others too but still working on them.
    Thanks for checkin in.

After a couple of months of remodeling and construction, I finally got to put my model railroad work bench back up. Put a couple of overhead cabinets in to keep projects out of sight and supplies in. Now all I have to do is find the time to get started on a number of projects.
