Well, another weekend is in the books! How did you do on your projects?

The weekend did not go as planned but turns out, I did get a lot done. Soccer for the weekend as well as helping a friend were all scrapped which gave me a lot more time to work on items in the layout room. I started Friday by soldering up a bunch of feeders and gluing the roadbed onto my first module.Saturday I glued the front fascia to module two, drew out the lines for the track and began laying the roadbed on module two. To help with alignment between the two modules (Unlike NTrak, there are no rail joiners between modules as the track just butts up) I first cut a piece of of 1/8 masonite to the same width as my cork roadbed and 1.5-inches long. These masonite roadbed pieces are glued to the ends of each module. A piece of 1-inch long sectional code 55 is placed on the end, two #70 holes are drilled into the ties and into the roadbed, then small track nails are used to hold these end pieces in. I also install my feeder drops here by soldering them to the rail joiners that will connect to the track. In the end, it makes for a neat look. Unfortunately, my buddy from up north could not make it again, so I was forced to move on my modules without him. I'm hoping to get a few more things done to my modules before they go into storage for a few weeks during the Holiday madness that befalls us each and every year.

So how about you? How did you do? Did you get everything done that you wanted to get done this past weekend? Tell us about it! On a programming note, for us in the United States, many of us have a short work week due to Thanksgiving. In light of that, we'll be coming back here on Wednesday the 26th to get a start of what will be a long weekend for many. Not that a lot of us will get much done mind you, but just in case! So lets meet back here on Wednesday the 26th to start it all over again. Until then...

Missions accomplished, I guess. I'm off until next Monday, so my first stop of the weekend was Home Depot for lumber and adjustable floor glides. It's very warm today, so I hope to do some woodworking in the garage.

Sunday was train show day. My main job was to sell an old Lionel HO set for a friend. I got $40 for it from a dealer who said he wanted it for his personal collection. At the same time, I found an N-scale turntable he had for $8 (he gave it to me for $5) that I will put HO track on and use it at the end of my branch line to turn short engines. It's 9 inches across, like an Atlas, but has a smaller footprint. It came with a 1 RPM motor, too. I also brought two old shoe boxes full of brass track, which I gave to another dealer to get rid of it. And, I found some JTT plants for a good price, and yet another Accurail Milwaukee boxcar I didn't have. There were layouts, too. I love the work that went into these two N-scale scenes:

I got home, settled in for some football and reattached the rear truck on a tender. It runs now, but the headlight is no longer working, and there's an issue with the rear coupler, too. So, it will need more work.
