Good Morning, good evening, where ever you may be. Welcome back from the weekend. I hope it was a good one for you, let's get started.

Saturday: Busy day at work so I wound down by watching some youtube videos on wood working.

Sunday: Angela and I got up and hit the road, stopping for breakfast before heading up to Peoria for the train show. I bumped into a lot of friends and saw some neat things, but nothing I could not live without. Most of the time, these shows are more of a social gathering. One the way home, Angela and I stopped at one of our favorite restaurants for a meal and a slice of pie. Once home, I started comping up my control panel for the B&M layout. I had purchased a 24X12 1/8-inch piece of ply for this project but before jumping in, I wanted to build a proof of concept. I used some heavy cardstock I had on hand which allowed me to experiment and finally have a finished piece. This also allowed me cardstock patterns in which to trace out on the wood and cut. Overall a nice day.

So how about you? What did you get done in your train room this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 22nd to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Well, pretty much did what I set out to do. Got out a CMR kit of Baltimore's American Brewery. I built up the base walls 12 years ago and stored the kit away. Decided I want to finish it. Kit was in amazingly great shape after all these years. Acrylic really holds up well. One major window backing had shattered and I almost decided to eliminate it and fill with wood or brick to simulate a "modification". However, I got brave and spent almost 2 hours Saturday AM rebuilding the piece. Turned out fairly successful. Took patience and quite a bit of sanding of small acrylic parts, styrene glue. Photo belows. I spent the rest of the weekend cleaning up the other parts and air-brushing the rest of the window backings. Also took quite a bit of time to sort through the parts and "re-acquaint myself w/ how it all should go together.

In any event. Here's the busted acrylic, the painted fix and the walls laid out w/ the windows "loose". The roof will be all plaster and acrylic castings.

An excellent approach. (y) There are some things which are best worked out in 3D. Cardstock is cheaper than lumber and a lot easier to work.

My F3 project is progressing nicely- kind of.

Whilst decaling F3B 8038, I discovered, it is an incorrect variant/phase. I discovered, when setting the road numbers, the car body panels are in the wrong place --- DAMN!! So, what to do-? Let it it ride-? Nope --!! So, I have an F3B on its way. Should be here tomorrow (11/19).

In the meanwhile, I have the other 3 ready for clear coat and then final details and reassembly.

    Here they are:

Found my turntable and ordered it, plus a couple of other track pieces. Working on an idea for a HOn30-Trak module.

Saturday after the NMRA meeting I hit my LHS for some more glue. Then I sat down and drew out the rafters for the roof on the depot. After that I started getting ready for the clinic I will be giving next month. That was all I did this weekend.

Saturday morning was busy with Boy Scouts. My son finished his Engineering merit badge (his 44th woo woo woo). Made it home about an hour before our guest arrived. After they departed Sunday, was able to get down to the train room for a bit. Got 3 more under track uncoupling magnets installed. Two more to go. Thought I had this done a while back but decided on some additional locations I wanted to add. Worked on my propane dealer lot a little. Realized the pad I made for it was too small so started the expansion process. Applied a little more ground cover and did a small amount of work on the creek bed. Hopefully it will be ready for water soon. I'll add pics in my JPT Sub thread in the N scale forum.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Continued to work drawings to detail the building of removable legs on my L-Shaped HCD layout. I have one inside corner leg (as seen in the location below) by my yard that's a mind-bender. I'll be using Jim's tip to first create it in cardboard.
