Dang, another weekend is over. Well, lets see how we did. My Saturday was great and and a welcome break from the last few months.I started my day by getting up at 3:00am and was on the road to my buddy Brian's house by 4:20. I met up with Brian at 5:15 and we were soon on the road. Our day started at the the Supreme House of Cheese in Toluca Illinois which despite it's name, serves up some of the best breakfast and donuts one can get. We railfanned from Toluca to Chillicothe stopping only for lunch. It was at the famous Houlihan's Curve we caught some vintage equipment. Santa fe still on the Transcon by Jim Wiggin posted May 23, 2016 at 6:57 AM I never thought I would consider these vintage and when Brian and I first started chasing trains on the BNSF system, these were still common. Still nice to see a few are running around in a sea of wide cab pumpkins. Traffic stopped past this point so we carried on a bit through to Galesburg where it seemed the trains were all put away for the night. Traffic was very quiet so we decided to head to our favorite restaurant in Galesburg, the Taco Hideout, and enjoy some fried tacos and beer. Heritage 2 alive and well by Jim Wiggin posted May 23, 2016 at 7:10 AM Running around Galesburg we caught up with a crew change on the west end of town on the former Santa Fe Transcon. Nice to see there is still a few of those "old" Heritage 2 locomotives running around. We actually caught a lot this weekend. Sadly however, I did not see any Cascade Green. We went to Cameron Illinois briefly then before heading out of town, we stopped for ice cream at the Kastle Kreme, another one of our favorites before calling it a day. Sunday was relaxing. Sleeping in, enjoying my tea in the warm weather (finally) and Jared's soccer game finished with some BBQ chicken on the grill. I did manage to get a lot of work done on my module. More Concrete work by Jim Wiggin posted May 23, 2016 at 6:54 AM Cutting plastic and scribing are the name of the game here. I will have all that concrete work done by Galesburg RR Days which is only a short four weeks away! So how about you? What did you get done this weekend? Let us know with an image or two. We'll be back on Friday the 27th to not only start a new weekend but also the unofficial start of Summer! Until then, be safe and have a great week and... High Greens!
Nothing. Spent Saturday cleaning the garage. Sunday recovering from that exercise. The end goal is having that space available for building some modules. So perhaps that vaguely qualifies as model RR related.
I had a very productive weekend. Got the running boards installed on my truck....the Wife is happy!! I got a lot more ground cover put down. As well as some ballast. Put in a 4 lane highway. I painted my other interlocking tower (now I can assemble it). Hope ya'll had a great weekend, Wolf
Got some more bench work done. I am determined to get all the bench done before I start track work. Then get the track in before scenery (I'm sure I'll waiver on the scenery thing). Anyway, I need to go back and shore up the legs now that I have them where I want. Slowly but surely....
^Just went into my account. I couldn't find anything locking folks out. I'll check at the "support forum". ???
