Well we are back from the weekend. How did you do? I had a busy weekend, none of which included trains except watching the occasional Wabash F unit go by from the Monticello Railway museum. It was a fun weekend but Angela put me to work. I'm tired, sunburned and ready for a weekend. Oh wait, that's five days away.....RATS. So how about you, how did you do? Let us know. We'll come back on Friday the 8th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a good week, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Going through my paints. The ex stored my stuff in the garage, where it boiled (c.130f) in summer, and got down to lower than twenty below. Much is ruined, deliberately. *Sigh*.
Nope nothing done this week. Went fishing instead. Caught a bass. I seem to have lost my oomph and fallen into a modeling slump.
Made some progress on my 1956 Lark: Head end cars 22 roomette Pullman Hope Y'all had a great and safe weekend, Wolf
Continued on my eternal control panel project for my new N Scale road. Miter cuts on the frames surrounding the laminate panels to the left and right are now complete, as are the compound miter cuts along the panel tops where they abut the trim along the rear. Each panel will be hinged at the top. Next up is to mortise the areas where the hinges will mount. My estimated completion date for the panel continues to be 2025.
We had been gone for a couple of weeks for a bowling tournament, but finally got back Saturday and I did have a little bit of time to finish this od Roundhouse caboose kit. It had been sitting in a box for probably 25 years and it was recently found. I don't believe that the Northern Pacific ever had a caboose like this, but it will work for me. Here it is waiting for an outbiund train to leave so it can pick up a few cars and return them to the Northern Pacific tracks.
In between attending what seemed like an endless string of graduation parties, I actually found time to do something at least MRR related for once. I got my old (Windows 98) computer hooked up again. Hopefully next weekend, I'll have the old Alps printer back up and running.
Finished wiring my maine-line. 8 blocks. It's taken quite a few weekends because I re-wired about half of it. This was to separate wires as much as possible for current detection. It works great and all blocks are correctly reporting the Team Digital Bloc D8 detector I'm using. I am getting a plan together of the layout so I can have the signalling system built. Also got my PC set up in the work shop and down loaded JMRI. That will be a new world for me.. looking forward to. Next step is to set up the NCE Power Cab and the accessories that go between the cab and the test track.
A little progress on my scratchbuilt "gentleman's club". A little paint, some experimenting with fiber optic lighting effects for the sign, cut out doors and windows.
