Well it's happened again. Another weekend is in the books. How did you do? I had a busy weekend starting off with working a short shift on Friday which found me home by 9:30 in the morning! I spent the day unpacking from Galesburg the weekend before and organizing the shop, getting ready for two customers orders that will be worked on in the coming weeks. Saturday, the forth, I worked a latter shift but was home by 3:30 in the afternoon and celebrated the 4th with a cook out and a movie at home. Sunday was the continuation of work shop and layout clean up. I finished up my busniess cards, cleaned the work bench area and placed some old buildings from the previous layout as stand ins for the Galesburg City Job. All in all, a busy but productive weekend. So how about you? What did you get accomplished this weekend? DCC work, scenery or maybe a little structure work? Let us know. We'll come back here on Friday the 10th and do it all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and... High Greens!
Long weekend w/ Friday thrown in. Got quite a bit of painting done in the train room. Late Friday, I started on the mountain backdrop and between Saturday and Sunday managed to get about 40% of the mountain backdrop done that I'll have in various places around the room. Next week the Heat/AC goes in which will help me stay up there longer on the weekends, working in a (finally) conditioned space. Doors, molding, trim, and light fixtures on the horizon.
I finally got around to making a space for my spray booth and getting all of my modeling tools together. I still have a bit more to do, but I should be back to building kits and working on the layout, hopefully by this coming weekend. I'm really looking forward to it!
Two locos decided to give me trouble.A Proto GP18 started derailing and running erratically, and a Proto FA2 stopped running altogether, of course, while I wasn't looking... When I got to it, it was hot and starting to smell hot...I will shortly begin to use the word Proto as a cuss word (replacing "Bachmann").
Started trying to string line on poles for a module. Wow, had no idea what I was in for. Between the fly-around nature of fine EZLine, tight clearances on N scale crossarms and regular work, I could find the time and steadiness to do one line a night. With a minimum of 12 lines I want up for good appearance, this is going to keep me going for a bit...
I took the time to build a couple new structure kits this weekend. The new N-Scale Architect 72' Baggage Car Diner, and the Blair Lines Pizzaland Restaurant Here's the diner, still needs to be mounted and have scenery added. Here's the Pizzaland And, placed where I think they will go on the JACALAR
John - I love it! Makes it very easy to maneuver the parts being painted, and then makes a nice base for the photo taking - too. It is a bit of a pain to clean, which I do about twice a year, simply to remove all the different layers of paint.
