Happy July and a Happy late Canada Day to our friends in the north. I hope you all had a good weekend and got a lot done so lets start this off.

Saturday: I spent the better part of my morning installing an AC unit in the one room of our old farm house that did not have AC. We call it the common room but it is where I write this thread, plan layouts, make signage for layouts and where my current New England modules reside. It has been so hot this year that I finally bit the bullet and went in. Some time with the table saw was needed to make this unit fit but it's done and I no longer sweat when I type this. Saturday was also our family tradition to get fireworks for the upcoming festivities this week. Yes, I do love the 4th of July more than any other holiday, including Christmas.

Sunday: Not train related but Angela bought me a new smoker grill for Fathers Day so I spent the morning "seasoning" the grill. Yeah, look it up, it's a thing. You basically paint the inside of your smoker with a combination of bacon grease and oil. I then burned cedar wood in the smoker all day while I worked on the yard. We later enjoyed some burgers on the grill then I finally got to work on the New England modules. Not much done once I realized I had run out of CA. The good news is I have three days off this week so maybe I can catch up.

So how about you? What did you get done this weekend? let us know. We'll assemble once again on Friday the 6th to start off another weekend. For all us Colonials, our Independence Day falls smack in the middle of the week, so let me be the first to say...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!

Stay safe as you celebrate, thank a VET, a service member and those who serve our country that have fought to keep us free. We aren't perfect, but we enjoy a lot because others gave all.

    High Greens!

Saturday: Prior to our Granddaughter's birthday party - I masked off and painted the Lark's coffee shop(Daylight red), baggage and RPO (Lark dark gray). Clear flatted the trucks and painted the wheel faces. I removed the lettering and road number from one of my new cabooses and just the road the number from the other. Now I have to touch up the paint and re-decal them.

Sunday: I managed to work on my layout -- I installed 20 street lamp posts (Discovered I'm short one - DOH!!). I didn't wire them up- just installed them. Then I worked on a couple of 13 double bedroom Pullmans that I have had for many years. (For the Lark). Set the ride height and body mounted the couplers. I still have to add grab irons. I also drilled the holes for the grab irons for the articulated coaches. The Lark project has been going pretty good so far. Wednesday I'll paint the roofs and the skirts on the coffee shop - black. I haven't decided if I'll wait to decal until all of the cars are ready - or - decal them as I get them to that point .......

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

Saturday and Sunday, I spent considerable time in the work shop building and painting a shelf over the PC for programming. Also spent some time putting together some freight cars for painting and then decaling. Spent very little time at the layout.

Yep I made a few trees is all. Decided the next bunch will only be the small ones. That’s next Friday’s plan.[IMG]

I did nothing, but I did get Pacific Electric decals from Miniatures by Eric. I did some searching for Tru Color paint within 50 miles of me, and I either get to drive 70 mile to Phoenix or 80 miles to Tucson......but I am getting closer....
