We're back from another weekend. How did you do? Lets Find out.

Friday: My weekend started early. I left Central Illinois a little after 4:00AM with my modules and display locomotives. Funny, the B&M modules all fit in the Focus without needing to put the seats down! I arrived in Collinsville, Illinois around 6:45, grabbed some breakfast and then went to the convention center to set up. For the first time setting up the three modules, it went really smooth and soon I was running #1715, a detailed B&M GP9 I did way back in 2004. I had forgotten that I had installed Z scale couplers on this unit so a few cars were hard to couple but for the most part, the layout ran great and I had some great conversations with folks at the show. Later that afternoon, I attended Jim DuFour's clinic on his B&M Chesire branch. What a treat to see his clinic and he's a fellow Red Sox fan!

Saturday: I only did one switching sequence on my layout Saturday, mainly because the last time I was at this meet, I did not attend any clinics and this particular day had three clinics I wanted to attend. One was on the large (now closed) Pillsbury plant in Springfield Illinois, the next was an excellent how to on modeling 40-foot boxcars of the 1960's and 70's and the third was on modeling the Rutland Railroad. Before I knew it, the RPM meet was over and it was time to pack up. John Golden and his crew deserve a big thanks for a great show and a lot of hard work.

Sunday: As promised, I spent the day with Angela and didn't touch one hobby. Well I did play with Jess a bit, but that is allowed. Overall a nice relaxing day.

So how about you? What did you accomplish this past weekend? let us know. We'll start the process all over again on Friday the 27th. Until then, have a great week, stay cool and as always...

    High Greens!

Well, we had our granddaughter this past weekend ---- sooooo...... my modeling was at a minimum.

    Saturday: Zilch

Sunday: I managed to get the dark gray stripe painted on the articulated chair set as well as painting the sides on the couple of cabooses (For renumbering).

    That was it --

    It's all good.

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

A little bit more cleaning of Shapeways shells. Maybe later today will start getting mechanisms and details readied. Maybe....

I got the Envirotex water poured in the cove of the new Japanese prototype module I am working on. After the Envirotex was good and hard I continued work on the ground cover. Eventually this module will have the overhead wire supports modeled and will have rather lush vegetation.

For this next show we do in September, we are going to eliminate the need for connecting tracks by bringing the Peco code 55 track right up to the edge of each module. We have already been doing this on some of the modules that always go together but this time we will be 100% and hopefully make set up easier. We had been having some problems with the crossover at one end of my Tokyo module set so I decided to replace the turnouts as part of the project. Those turnouts showed up and this weekend I stripped out the old ones.

At some point, maybe waiting for that Enviortex to harden I got distracted and ended up spending quite a bit of time on making a SP MOW vehicle based on some photos I saw on the web. Still got a ways to go on this one but here is what I got so far. I used an Athearn N scale Ford C cab tractor and everything else is scratch built.

Decaled a C&O box car, pulled out some engines to see what shape they're in now that I can run trains. (Some need work, lot's of work), sorted out all of the programmers and electronics I have and laid them out on a board for setting up my test track, and vacuumed the train room floor (it was pathetic from the last month of scenery and wiring). Also ordered an ESU programmer from Tony's. Sorted through all of my decals. Can't believe how many I have collected over the years. Mostly Champ, but others as well. Microscale, Westerfield, Speedwitch Media, and old Walthers. Fortunately, even the older ones I have used are in good shape. The C&O set I used this weekend was in one of old original Champ envelopes, at least 40 years old or so, and it behaved as if it were just printed. Not a lot to show for the weekend, but I got stuff done that needed to be done.
