Another weekend is in the books. How did you fare?
I'm short on words this morning thanks due in part of doing the updates in a parking lot in an undisclosed location. So as you can gather, both Paducah Geeps are DONE! All day Saturday with early Sunday morning putting the last touches on both were required. Next came the nice two hour drive up to Dave's home out side of Chillicothe. Angela and I enjoyed the down time of the drive and engaged in good conversation until we reached Dave's home. I think Dave was happy with his new workers and it looks like they will be busy. I included some images of his very large N scale empire that is a great representation of the Peoria area in the mid 1970's.

It was a great way to end the week, seeing the updates to his layout and running trains. Angela and I stopped in for a nice Italian dinner on the way home and concluded the weekend. All in all busy but no work on my modules.

So how about you? Did you get everything done you had hopped and planned for? Let us know, with pictures if you have them. Now a programming note for the upcoming weekend: I'm heading east this Thursday for the Big Amherst Society Railroad Show in Springfield Massachusetts. We New Englanders call it the "Big One". My good friend, Railfaning buddy and recent cancer survivor and I are going in celebration of beating his cancer and we are leaving Bloomington by train. Yup, it's the ultimate train trip! I'll be doing Friday's WMP on Amtrak somewhere hopefully in Eastern NY, so if the thread is a little late, please understand.

Until then fellow rail junkies, have a great week, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

Quiet weekend for me. I started it out making some quick reference cards for my sound decoders using 3 X 5 index cards. Then I spent some time in the train room outing up a couple of gangs boxes on the fascia, labeling areas on the fascia, removed a small piece of track so that the saw mill will fit. Also found that most of my saw mill structures aren't fitting in the area any more. May need to find new uses. Cleaned up the train room and ran some trains. Found two loose wires and repaired that. Also found I have a dead loco or something. I have a mantua 2-6-6-2 with an MRC decoder that is t responding for some reason. I think I may hook it up to decoder pro and see what's going on. I also started rearranging a few industries to see how they will fit in the long range scheme.[IMG]

Absolutely nothing. I had a number of projects planned but had to go out and help out local search and rescue find a lost snowmobiler. I am a pilot and very familiar with the area where the guy got lost so I got a call. After checking the area that the Forest Service designated for snowmobilers and not having any luck, we flew over some areas adjacent to the regular trails and sure enough, he was right where he was not supposed to be. We helped the people on the ground locate the lost man. They were able to get him out, but from what I hear, he'll probably have to wait for the snow to melt and trailer the sled out with a four wheeler. The snow was about 15 feet deep where he got stuck in drifts under some trees and they could not pull the sled out.

    Maybe next weekend.

As an avid backpacker, I'd like to thank you for the work you do in Search and Rescue. Too many people forget to not be dumb, and you guys get called way too often to risk your own butts to save theirs.

My big accomplishment of the weekend (besides watching too much sports), was solving the mystery of my Kato E9s (for my CoLA consist). At the last show, they were jack-rabbiting every time started. Somewhere between the address re-programming for the Portland NTS and now, I had managed to completely screw up their motor tables (and wipe out accel/decel and BEMF). All fixed now.

I actually started cutting lumber for benchwork! Phase 1 of the HO scale RFAX shortline will be a 21"x16' section. Today after work I assembled the first 8' frame and put it on stilts to evaluate what I want for layout height.

Finally sat down and finished my HOn30 diesel critter shell. Ready to paint. Afterward, I'll just need to figure out decals.

No progress, but I did get my freemoN modules up and running with my NCE SB3. It was so very relaxing.

A little late...but, I didn't work on my Pacific Motor Trucking ramp... had to rethink how I'm going to build it. I have a plan.. now. I did work on some PMT trailers and my water and oil columns. Worked on vertical oil tanks for a bulk oil dealer. OH - and weathered up my new Broadway Limited NYC box cars.

    That's about it,
    Wolf

I've been on hiatus, but back now, and getting back up to speed on a door layout. I've been working on laying out the town.
