The first weekend of December is in the books. How did you do?

I did not do so well, mainly because of a honey do list thanks to Christmas. Saturday I helped Angela with her projects and took Jared to soccer. Sunday I was pressed into Christmas tree transport then cleaning and making a big dinner. I was able to get one module done with the bolts for the legs and that was it. An unproductive weekend but kind of expected this time of year.

So how about you? Were you able to get anything done? Or did Christmas plans get in the way? Let us know how you did, with pictures if you have them. We'll come back on Friday the 12th and start the process all over again. Until then, have a happy and safe week and...

I had a lot planned, but did not get all what I wanted to done. Saturday I worked a little on ground cover trying to blend the scenery to the backdrop. When I get some sagebrush trees built some will be put in the space between the tracks and the backdrop.

Also extended a platform at the passenger station to serve an additional track.

Saturday evening we attended a Christmas party that my wifes employer has every year. She ended up winning a beautiful laptop computer. The only problem is that it came with Windows 8. There went my plans for working on the layout on Sunday. Spent a good part of the day getting it to operate like Windows 7 and eliminating countless, useless "apps" that were preinstalled on the computer. From what I understand, Windows 8 was one of Microsofts biggest flops. Guess they are skipping Windows 9 and will come out with Windows 10 which will operate like Windows 7. Sometimes I really hate computers.

Yes, 'tis the the season. The tree is down from the attic and assembled, and all the decorations are in boxes all over the living room. The wife spent the whole weekend out and about doing "ladies' activities," so that's as far as it got.I added the bus wires (track power and structure lights) to the final section of Phase 3, and cut the pink foam to size. I extended the track from the previous section. It's just pinned in place, as I need to add a turnout. I'm going to have a turntable at the end, so I put an old Atlas in as a placeholder. I found an old N-scale TT that should work fine. Like the Atlas, it's 9 inches across, which will work to turn a trolley or switcher.I have the turnout I need to install, but I can't find it. It's somewhere beneath my layout, but I may have to wait for retirement to have the time to seriously look for it. Fortunately, that's only 8 days away....

I know all about the "somewhere". When construction on my layout slowed drastically because of no local hobby shops, I put a lot of items away in a safe place until the layout got to the point when I could use them. Over the years things were moved around and now there are a lot of things I can't find. Old Timers disease I guess.

Next weekend nothing will happen to the layout as we are in a bowling tournament out of town on Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully after that, more work on the layout can be done.

I finally got around to unboxing my new portable spray booth that I received a couple of weeks ago.
This is it, folded up. It's about the size of a small suit case:

And here it is, ready for use:

Out of curiosity, what manufacturer? How much did it cost? Dimensions?

Well, I got as far as moving a few things around on my work bench, and setting a T-Trak module there for some work. But that was all. :(

It's made by Master Airbrush, cost me somewhere between $90-$100 with shipping from Amazon. The unfolded size is listed as 48x42x35 cm. Judging by the broken English in the instruction manual, I don't think it was made in the states. :)

Found the pictures on the start of the platform expansion for the passenger station to allow boarding on the second track from the station. There will be a fence going in along the tracks to the station platform along the back of the residence on the left of the picture.

My dad brought the layout table over to my apartment Saturday and for now it's on saw horses. This is just temporary until I decide on legs.

I was able to get about 1/2 of my roadbed laid out and plan on securing it to the foam using Liquid Nails tomorrow evening.
