Welcome back rail junkies! Hope you all had a great Christmas break and enjoyed both family and friends this past long weekend.

I know I did, and I'm sure I gained about 40 pounds in the process! I really went all out this year and had a great time with my family. Now because it was such a busy time for most of you, here is what I'm doing for today. Most, like me, probably did not get a lot done, but you may have received or bought some new items for the layout. So with that said:

    1. Post what you got for Chistmas that is model railroad related.

    Or

    2. If you did get something done, let us know.

For me, I got nothing done, but I did get a nice new soldering station from my sweetheart that will come in handy for both track work and decoder installs and a new Athern CB&Q gondola for the layout.

Now, we have another short week as this year is about run out. That's right, 2015 is at the end of the line. With that said, many will have Friday, New Years Day off, so I'll be posting a special Long Weekend Modeling plans thread on Thursday the 31st complete with a New Years Resolution for model railroading.

Until then, enjoy a short work week and the rest of 2015, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

I finished decaling three cars. I had an old MT 40' box car that I stripped and repainted. It was in a junk box that I acquired at a train show and had a real crappy hand painted finish on it. It is now a Missouri Pacific (NOT&M) box car. A friend had some old MT NYC dispatch stock cars in the ATSF foobie green paint scheme that he wanted repainted. They are now painted and decaled to resemble SP stock cars.

Well my wife gave me a package of trees. Already got an idea what to do with them. I have a park, some streets planned, buildings. Today I hit the train room and did a little cleaning and straightening to get ready for a coupe special guests. Also took and made up my fist set of consisted locos. Easy Peasy......

So....my layout is in the garage, my back can't take the cold of the garage right now....I have a bunch of Micro-Trains Southern Pacific hoppers ( a pair of runner packs) and boxcars that I would like to weather, but it is too cold to spray dulcoate.....I have been trying my hand at N Scale graffiti on a sheet of paper

I have an obtrusive structure. I like it but it always seems to be in the way. I am thinking of pulling out my dremel and cutting it in half and making a back ground building out of it.

My weekend is just wrapping up. Went back to do some track work today. Started laying track for my staging yard. This next weekend I hope to have a whole section completed from the staging to the main layout.
