Weekends seem to go faster and faster the older I get, this one was certainly no exception.

I started my Saturday by doing a whirlwind cleaning of the house before my first guest, Steve, arrived for the operations / Christmas Social. The two of us got ready, ate some lunch then proceeded to get the layout ready. Dave (PPUIN) showed up next and soon the City Job was off and running. I only had Dave and Steve show up for this meet but we still enjoyed ourselves with plenty of operations, train videos and of course food. The layout ran well, only a few sticky spots with a switch and piece of track but all in all, December 10th, 1966 was a lot of fun!

Sunday was a lazy day for me. I cleaned up the shop in anticipation of working on customer orders through the week and started planning a DCC installation and re powering of a Life Like GP20. Not much else to report for Sunday.

So how about you? Did you accomplish all that you set out to do on Friday? Let us know. We'll come back again on Friday the 16th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

I finally got off of my butt and put in a grade crossing into the roundhouse area.

This is the before photo. Using a piece of paper and some weathering charcoal, the tracks were traced out and pieces of styrene were cut and test fitted.

After a bit of filing the pieces fit and were painted and installed.

Now all that has to be done is to add a bit of ballast to the ends of some of the pieces and a RR crossing sign installed.

Had a very productive weekend. Phase 1A (General ground cover) and 1B (ballasting) are done. Pictures to follow. Now, on to the real fun stuff... all the neat and fun details that really make the layout come to life.

Hope ya'll had an awesome weekend,
    Wolf

No podcast recording .. . our host is swamped in his day job. We may get back to it after the first of the year.

I did make it to the Sunday open house for the Gulf Coast Model Railroad Museum in Gulfport, MS

I had a productive weekend for a change. My drop in diorama got a lot done. The plaster cloth is on and waiting for a thin layer of plaster.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

AND FINALLY, ran some trains. A string of empty hoppers looking for a mine that "aint" there yet. ;)
