Well That weekend went by fast. Perhaps it was the warm weather or the the fact that life got busy.

I started my weekend by finishing up the last 2 of an 8 car order in 2-rail O. My buddy came over Friday night to pick them up and share some brats and beer. Saturday, I started out by having breakfast with a couple of my my fellow railroad buddies, then attended the local train show and ended up picking up a Reading gondola for the modules, a nice metal building and a cool book on the facilities of the CB&Q with a lot of pictures of Galesburg. Unfortunately, none of the pictures were of the area my friend and I are modeling but the book was still worth the purchase. After the show I went back to the shop where I finished the four N scale Reading FMC boxcars that will be available at the Ohio N Scale meet.

Sunday was more relaxed as we slept in and had a nice drive to Springfield to watch Jared play two games of soccer and finishing it off with a some good BBQ at a local restaurant. All in all, a good weekend with finally some great weather.

So how about you? What did you get accomplished this past weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 22nd to do it all over again. Until then, have a safe weekend and...

    High Greens!

Yeah, the darn heat got me this past weekend. However on Saturday - with the help of my dear friend Dennis Iveson, I have a great start on my ground cover (He gave me a bunch of pre-sifted dirt). Sunday - I body mounted couplers on my Microtrains drop bottom gons and a stock car. That was it for this weekend.

Hope ya'll had a great weekend,
    Wolf

Yesterday was going to be a day of cleaning the layout area, getting stuff away, etc. Instead, I started the day planning to install a couple of toggle switches on my test/programming oval and got a couple of slivers in my hands. So, I completely resanded all the edges of the frame, then taped up the track and stuff, and spray painted the wood, to seal the edges. That took most of the day (waiting for paint to dry to do other side). After that, rested during heat of afternoon

Gathered together a few materials for a bit of future scenery work. But that was it.

Got some more track laid on my switching layout. I'm just about to the trickiest part of the plan, which will slow me down even more than usual. I also ran some cars over the track already down, and found one switch that's being a problem. No diagnostics yet, might be just a simple pass or two of the file to fix.

My modeling plans were for naught. I had things to do Saturday and then a work meeting on Sunday killed any ideas. Life gets in the way of fun again!:(
