We are back from the weekend! How did you do? Did you loose your money due to trains or taxes? Saturday: After getting up early to get my domestic duties out of the way, I went about getting the City Job ready for transport. By noon I was on the road and headed to the show which was only 35 minutes away. Set up could not have been better either. I was able to back the little Focus up to the doors and walk a few paces in to my area. I had the layout up and running and was leaving by 3:30 to enjoy the nice warm and sunny day. Sunday: The show opened to vendors and layout owners at 7:00 and included a nice breakfast. The show was at a local middle school's gym and had three HO modular layouts, A G scale modular layout that included live steam, a small 0-27 three rail layout, a T-Trak layout and two Z scale layouts. For a one day show, there was plenty to see. There were also a decent amount of dealers as well. Somehow I managed to not spend any money despite the few good deals I saw in both HO and N. The City Job received great reviews and I even spent time talking with a few folks who knew the area of Galesburg Illinois. The sponsor club was real happy I set up and I look forward in setting up again next year. A great weekend all in all. So how about you? What did you get done this past weekend? Let us know. We'll do it again on Friday the 19th and see if we manage to get anything done over the Easter Weekend. Until then, Have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Looking at and measuring the folding table I had envisioned for my T-Trak setup. Decided it is way too small. I am going to get a six footer. Well, next paycheck, now that the IRS has emptied my bank account...
Well I had a productive weekend. I made up a lot of waybills. I still have a bunch of rolling stock I need to inventory. Also since I am trying to modernize all my rolling stock there is some I didn’t make waybills for. I still have a bunch that need cutting and placing in the sleeves but I got a bunch ready to go. I also need to type up and print some off. I need to include weights with those since they are mine cars.
My BL-2 project is progressing nicely -- a few more thing -- then she'll be ready for a clear coat Hope Y'all had a great weekend, Wolf
I got them through everydayplastics.com Here is the item number I am using e50-0420-OSL These are 2 3/8” x 4 3/8”.
Got my taxes sent in last week, so this weekend I was able to concentrate on the following: 1. Bridge pier: This is about 90% or so done. Needs a little more work and then I can stage it on the layout. It will support 2 box bridges. I built it from Central Valley lattice beams, plastruct webs, and left over parts from a CVT double-parker bridge. 2. Got a Digitrax LNWI wifi interface installed on the LocoNet. I have the iPhone throttle. Tested it and ran trains from my iPhone yesterday. Works pretty good
It’s been a busy day. I now have a full box of waybills. Three need to be redone to fix mistakes, I also have several cars needing decals and/or renumbering, and still want some more cars to complete my modernization. Good thing the national train show is coming up here in a couple of months.
After getting frustrated trying to line up and precisely drill 68 holes on one of my control panels, I made a simple jig for my drill press. The panel abuts the small fence and keeps all of the holes lined up nicely. Next up, I must backdrill each hole with a forstner bit on the flip side because the panel thickness is a bit too much for the toggle switches and LED mounts.
Last Tuesday I spent a really fun evening at the Mid South Model Railroad Club in Baton Rouge, LA shooting pictures of 29 HO scale IC Deathstar Locos, and 4 cabeese. Mane was that fun:
